Alcudia Beach: A Paradise of Sun and Sea
Exploring the Beaches of Alcudia
Alcudia boasts an impressive coastline featuring stunning beaches that stretch from Alcudia Port to Can Picafort, a distance of 13.5 kilometers. This expansive stretch of sandy shoreline provides a scenic walking route, allowing visitors to connect with the natural beauty of the area while enjoying the serene sound of waves. As well as walkers you’ll also find members from the running club, this area is so well liked for locals as this is a meeting area all year round, so delightful in nice bright day in the winter, you really get to meet all your friends and also make new ones.
Summer Vibes in Alcudia
During the summer months, Alcudia transforms into a bustling hub for tourists and locals of all ages. The fine golden sands and crystal-clear waters attract sun-seekers looking to paddle or swim in conditions that remain inviting until November. The shallow waters make it easy for families and quieter beachgoers to enjoy the gentle lapping waves without the worry of sudden depth changes, as the water is so shallow in the summer the sea can feel like bath temperature- so nice, and i’d recommend going to the beach in the evening having you dinner followed by a lovely evening swim.
There are also plenty of restaurants/ beach bars as you walk or paddle along the beach so a drink or some food is never far away, Toilets are also plentiful as each of the beach bars have Male, Female and Disabled toilets, as well as showers provided to shower all the salty sea water off after your swim..
Winter Serenity
As the summer crowds dissipate, the beaches of Alcudia take on a different charm in winter. The sand, less disturbed and firm underfoot, creates a different beach experience. Even in November, you might find people enjoying the beach—paddling, swimming, or simply basking in the sun's warmth. While winter brings variability with wind and occasional storms, many days remain pleasantly mild. During these cooler months, visitors can take long walks, appreciate the tranquility, and perhaps enjoy a quieter atmosphere as beach furniture is removed and the sand stretches on endlessly, winter walks are so pleasant, people you pass all seem happy, singing and saying good day to you. Smiles all round.
So if you enjoy water activities Alcudia beach is the place to be with endless swimming to maybe blowing those cobwebs away with fast adrenaline rides like do-nuts or the banana boats , jetskis of if your not scared of heights try out Parasailing ,, for great views,, it’s all fun and memories, there’s also the crazy ufo, Sting ray or if you’re feeling very pumped up try the challenge.. or a relaxing trip in a pedalo,, the choice is yours.
The Wooden Bridge
One notable feature of Alcudia is the wooden bridge that enhances the natural landscape and provides a unique vantage point over the surrounding area. This bridge not only facilitates access to different beach segments but also offers a picturesque spot for photos, making it a favourite among visitors. Professional photographers recommend have your photos taken around this area as the photo look so gorgeous.. the colours from the sea and the sunsets look so special in your photo album.
