“Santa Ponsa, Mallorca: Beach, Port and Things to See.
Getting to Know Santa Ponsa
Santa Ponsa is a popular seaside resort on Mallorca’s southwest coast. Its broad sandy beach sits at the heart of the bay, with the marina, shops, cafés and places to eat nearby. On my visit, I enjoyed walking around the port and seafront and taking in the different views of the resort.
Santa Ponsa’s main beach curves around a wide, sheltered bay, with golden sand and clear water. In summer, you’ll find sunbeds and parasols, as well as water activities for a livelier day. Cafés and restaurants nearby make it easy to stop for something to eat or drink. Whether you want to swim, relax or stroll along the shore, the beach is at the heart of the resort.
There’s more to enjoy around Santa Ponsa when you fancy a break from the beach. You can take a walk and enjoy the coastal views, or spend some time on one of the golf courses nearby. It gives you a few different ways to make the most of your visit.
The Port and the Historic Cross
Santa Ponsa’s marina is small but makes a lovely stop during a walk around the resort. I enjoyed seeing the boats gathered in the harbour and the coastline around the bay. Close by is the cross monument, which commemorates King Jaume I’s landing at Santa Ponsa in 1229. It adds a little history to this peaceful part of the waterfront.
Final Thoughts
Santa Ponsa is best known for its beach, but there’s more to discover as you explore the resort. You can enjoy the sheltered bay, take a stroll by the marina, see the historic cross, or spend time on the nearby golf courses. I hope this guide helps you enjoy your visit to Santa Ponsa.
